The NASA Space Apps Challenge, organized at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Genç Ofis on October 5-6, was held with great excitement and enthusiasm. Participants competed fiercely to develop innovative solutions in the fields of space and technology. The competition was coordinated by the Dawn Rebels team, which is part of the Future in Space community. Throughout the competition, participants demonstrated their knowledge and creativity with different projects and presented solutions that pushed the boundaries. The jury team of the competition; Emre Üneşi and Oğuzhan Murat from TÜBİTAK UZAY and our school's academic staff Prof. Dr. Ozan Artun, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Yetmez, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aytaç Altan and our mentor Res. Asst. Murat Varol, contributed to a successful evaluation process. These valuable jury members meticulously evaluated the projects and contributed to the fair and high-quality conclusion of the competition.
At the end of the exciting competition, Fermion Game Studios came out first. The innovative game they developed for entertainment in a microgravity environment earned the team 10,000 TL with the sponsorship of Zonguldak Teknopark. In addition, other teams also put forward inspiring projects in many areas from space research to environmental issues. The entire competition became an unforgettable experience thanks to the devoted efforts and original ideas of all participants. The BeuCyber team won second place with their project "Symphony of the Stars: Harmonizing the James Webb Space Telescope with music and images". They won a prize of 7,500 TL with the sponsorship of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Foundation. The third place prize was given to the Robone team. The team, which won a prize of 5,000 TL with the sponsorship of Zonguldak Chamber of Commerce and Industry, attracted attention with their original ideas in the competition.
The fact that this event was organized for the first time in Zonguldak was a beginning. If supported, this event will continue to grow and develop in the coming years and will bring together more young talents in Zonguldak.
